About Diana Gries

Self taught, sketching as a child and throughout my life, I am consistently drawn to the culture, beauty, and rhythm of Native America.

Since early childhood, I have been drawn to Native American culture and spirituality.  Inspired by the strength and beauty visible in the character of native faces and their use of natural materials, I continue to be compelled to capture these images in my renderings.  I also do portraits, landscapes, horses,still lives, scenic vistas and animals. 

Born in Davenport, Iowa, to a rural farming couple, adopted by the Sioux.  I pursued a career in healthcare as a registered nurse for many years.  Moving to Santa Fe opened a portal to pursue my real passion in life – capturing the beautiful images of Native American faces and the artistic designs used by the early native peoples.  I also enjoy drawing the natural settings of nature and her animal peoples.

Giclees are reproductions of the original art, done with special inks and paper that are guaranteed to remain true and not degrade for 150 years.

My giclees will be limited in quantity, signed and numbered.
